Our Spiritual Home
The Barrels is a characterful 18th‑century coaching inn, partly built into the old city wall and one of the last true multi‑room pubs in Hereford. Once the long‑time home of Wye Valley Brewery, it remains a down‑to‑earth, much‑loved drinking spot that draws a wonderfully eclectic crowd thanks to its lively, friendly atmosphere and, naturally, its superb beer.
Outside, you’ll find a spacious, partially covered, flag‑stoned beer garden that offers year‑round alfresco drinking. Each August Bank Holiday weekend, The Barrels hosts its much‑anticipated Charity Beer Festival, bringing together great beer, great company and fundraising for local causes.
The pub is also home to several thriving ladies’ and men’s darts, pool and skittles teams... all of which are always happy to welcome new members.
Manager Ian Forrest and his team look forward to greeting you!
